Some Thoughts
Our goals for this project were to:
Convert the existing screened porch into a permanent addition to the house while retaining the style and look of the existing porch

Products Used for this Project:
American Craftsman Vinyl Windows
Benjamin Moore Paints
Phantom Retractable Screen Doors
This Client utilized our Purchasing and Selection Services and Architectural Assistance services in completing this project.
About The Project
In a quiet Buckhead, Atlanta neighborhood, our client had a cozy cottage perched on a hill where she and her dog enjoyed early season use of their screen porch. However, hot summers and unpredictable Georgia winters made the space unusable year round. Her desire was to convert the screen porch into a four-season room where she and her dog could enjoy the space year-round.
The Construction:
The existing screening and original porch columns were removed and the current roof structure supported for the new construction.
The new exterior walls were framed for window installation and insulated for year round use
New maintenance-free vinyl windows were installed and placed at a height that her dog could see out the windows without jumping or climbing on the furniture.
The new room interior was finished out with bead board paneling and detailed interior trim to mimic the original style and look of the screen porch
A combination ceiling fan / heater was installed to keep the space more comfortable in colder temperatures
The existing flagstone porch flooring was cleaned and coated with sealer
The Exterior Project:
Cedar shake siding was installed on the new walls to match the existing residence
False column trim was constructed to mimic the original screen porch columns
The project interior and exterior was painted to match residence
A retractable screen door to the back yard was installed for easier pet access
