About The Project
Summer in Atlanta can be brutal. If it isn't the mosquitoes, it's the oppressive heat and humidity. The Seeliger's had spent considerable time and effort converting their Stone Mountain home into a gardening showplace. However, the extreme Atlanta summer had made enjoying the outdoors nearly impossible. We were able to design a new screen porch and deck to allow them to enjoy vistas of the gardens from without having to leave the comfort of the porch
The Construction:
The existing pressure treated deck was removed
The existing small sun room was reworked into a home office with a heated tile floor
A new vaulted ceiling screen porch was constructed at the end of the sunroom to project the porch as far into the gardens as possible.
A new larger Veranda Composite deck was constructed to accommodate space for potted plants and a large grill.
The Exterior Project:
HardiPlank lap siding was installed on the porch gable to match the existing residence
Custom railings and 8'wide deck steps were added to provide an inviting entrance to the gardens from the house
The project interior and exterior was painted to match residence
